Fantasy Sequels Released in March 2022
I couldn’t find a lot of sequels being released this month, but there are still a few noteworthy ones to talk about here.
The Demon Tide
The Demon Tide by Laurie Forest is the fourth book in the Black Witch Chronicles.
This is a super popular fantasy series that I have been meaning to read myself. I believe this is the last book in the series, but, I could be wrong.
It comes out on March 1, 2022.
The War of Two Queens
Another fourth book in a very popular fantasy series.
The War of Two Queens, book four in the Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout releases to the public on March 15, 2022.
I believe there will be more books in this series, but correct me if I am wrong.
Crimson Reign
The final fantasy sequel coming out this month is Crimson Reign.
This is book 3 in the Blood Heir Trilogy. You can expect this book to hit shelves on March 1, 2022.
Fantasy Standalone Books Released in March 2022
There weren’t a whole lot of sequels this month. Now we are going to move on to the fantasy standalone books that are coming out. As always, some of these may actually be first books. But there is no mention of them being in a new series on their pages on Goodreads. So today we will go off of the assumption that all of these are standalone books until we get information that tells us otherwise.
Honestly, we don’t get enough good fantasy standalone books, so I really hope we continue to get more of these in the coming year!
The Circus Infinite
Coming out on March 8, 2022, is the Circus Infinite by Khan Wong. In this book, we are following Jes, a mixed-species fugitive on the run from people in power who want to study his gravity powers.
He manages to catch the attention of a crime boss while he is in hiding and then is basically forced to do everything the crime boss tells him, or be turned in to the authorities.
Jes takes on the tasks, but he and his new friends are determined to take down the mobster once and for all.
A Far Wilder Magic
Coming out on March 8, 2022, is A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Shaft. This book follows Margret, who one day happens to spot a legendary hala, the last living mythical creature.
Knowing that the Halfmoon Hunt will start soon, Margret is determined to kill the hala and unlock an ancient magical secret.
She teams up with a not quite alchemist to join the hunt and try to win glory, riches, and fame.
Gallant
The newest book by acclaimed writer, VE Schwab, Gallant will be coming out on March 1, 2022.
This is said to be a dark and original story about the place where the world meets its shadow. We follow a young girl, who is beckoned by both sides.
It grapples with the demons that are often locked behind closed doors and really shows us how everything in this life casts a shadow.
The Bone Orchard
The Bone Orchard by Sara A Mueller is a fascinating mystery set in a gothic world of secrets and magic.
We follow a dying emperor and his favorite concubine. He charges her with solving his murder, and hopefully preventing the culprit, likely one of his own three sons, from taking control of the empire.
This book comes out on March 22, 2022.
Queens of Themiscyra
This is a book inspired by ancient Greece. We follow the women of war.
The Queen of the Amazons is feared for her skill on the battlefield. When a ship lands on her island though, it brings with it a dangerous future she never would have imagined. She goes to Athens and learns of a love that transcends everything she has ever known.
This book comes out on March 4, 2022.
The Lost Dreamer
Coming out on March 1, 2022, the Lost Dreamer is a standalone fantasy debut by Lizz Huerta.
This YA fantasy is inspired by ancient Mesoamerica. It introduces us to a lineage of seers who defiantly resist the shifting patriarchal state that wants to see them destroyed.
Indri, is one of the Dreamers. She is descended from a long line of seers. Saya is a seer, but not a formally trained Dreamer. Together, these two must come together to save the world they know and love.
The Book of Living Secrets
Coming out on March 1, 2022, this book is said to be perfect for fans of the Hazel Wood.
It is a genre-bending page-turner. We follow two girls who transport themselves into the world of their favorite book. Only to find that the world that awaits them is not what they remembered.
This sounds like a story within a story. Where the two girls have to save the world within their favorite book.
Practical Demonology
Practical Demonology is a chilling YA fantasy horror.
It is set in a world overrun by plague and demons. We follow a group of teens who are doing whatever it takes in order to survive.
If you are interested in picking this one up, you can get it when it releases on March 29, 2022.
New Fantasy Series Coming Out in March 2022
There are a lot of standalone fantasy books coming out in March 2022. Surprisingly, there are only three new fantasy series coming out this month that I noticed. Of course, there are more out there, but these are all of the ones that I personally found super interesting.
So if you are looking for some new series to check out, then these may be right up your alley.
Wildseed Witch
Wildseed Witch by Marti Dumas is a middle-grade fantasy.
We follow Hasani in the summer before her 8th-grade year. The last thing she expects is to discover she has magical powers. These powers attract the attention of the witches, and she ends up shipped off to a magical finishing school.
This book is #BlackGirlMagic and releases on March 10, 2022.
Blood Scion
The first book in a new series, Blood Scion by Deborah Falaye comes out on March 8, 2022.
This book follows a girl named Sloane. Sloane has the power to incinerate any enemy at will. She is a Scion, a descendant of the ancient gods.
These powers mean death if she is ever discovered. At 15, she is forcibly conscripted into the army and decides to use this as an opportunity to take down the regime from the inside.
A Magic Steeped in Poison
The first book in the Book of Tea series by Judy I Lin comes out on March 22, 2022.
In this magical debut, we follow a girl named Ning who is mourning the death of her mother. Making it worse, her mother’s death is her own fault and now her sister’s life is in danger as well.
To save her sister, she enters a competition that will allow her to gain favor from the princess and save her sister’s life.
There are a lot of books coming out this month. Let me know which one(s) you are the most excited about.
